We're Kelsy & Butch McCartney, a Wisconsin-based husband & wife team forming The McCartneys - two full-time professional photographers.

Weddings, seniors and newborns are our very favorite events to photograph, and we especially enjoy working with couples who are easy-going, love to laugh, and aren't afraid to be themselves in front of our cameras!

A few things we love include: sharing a pot of coffee in the morning, exploring new cities, having picnics, and spending as much time with our families as possible!

COURTNEY & DREW | MILWAUKEE GRAIN EXCHANGE WEDDING

Oh my goodness, where do we even begin with the beauty that surrounded Courtney and Drew on their wedding day?? Courtney is an event planner in Milwaukee and we just knew that she had a treat in store for all of her guests with the day she & Drew had planned. We started out with them at the Pfister hotel where they got ready and shared laughs & smiles with their bridal party before seeing each other for the first time. As Courtney approached Drew for their first look, walking down one of the Pfister’s classic hallways, she was absolutely beaming! Drew’s reaction to his radiant bride was perfect – he eyed up every inch and really soaked in the moment. Moving just a few blocks away to The Grain Exchange, C&D greeted their guests with an already over-the-top room transformed into something magical. Courtney and Drew, your wedding day and all of the careful thought + detail you put into it has us feeling extremely blessed that we were able to be part of your day. We are so happy for the two of you!! :)

CAMI & DAN | AIRPLANE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

From the moment Cami and Dan booked us for their wedding, we were looking forward to not just their wedding day, but especially their engagement session. Dan is a pilot and we were so excited to work his plane into their portraits, since we’re pretty sure the plane won’t be any part of their wedding day transportation ;)

Their engagement story is one of the most unique we have ever heard and, naturally, it involves an airplane. They set out on a flight to the Oshkosh airport just as they had for their first dinner date and at the landing, the crew members had a sign that said “Cami, look at Dan!” Just as she turned his way, he proposed! If this doesn’t sound straight out of a movie, we don’t know what does!

Last week we met Cami and Dan at the Wausau airport on a chilly afternoon and created images with them that have us swooning. We cannot wait to be part of their wedding day next September!

KATIE & TIM | WEDDING RECEPTION at PEKING

When Katie’s Mom, Ann, reached out to us about photographing her & Tim’s wedding reception at the Peking, were immediately looking forward to it! They were married earlier this fall in Savannah, Georgia, and wanted to celebrate one more time back here in Wausau with all of her friends & family who were unable to attend.

For us, this was unlike any other wedding we have photographed. Rather than documenting an entire wedding day filled with portraits, vows, and non-stop details, we were assigned the task of capturing all of the smiles, hugs, and laughter that filled the room. While looking through their images we found ourselves smiling at all of these moments, and wanted to share some of them with you :) Enjoy!

Lydia and Matt are an incredible couple. There aren’t enough words to describe the amount of thought, detail, and planning they put into their beautiful Milwaukee wedding. Photographing their love was a definite highlight of our 2011 wedding season :)

When we woke up this morning and realized that Lydia & Matt’s beautiful wedding would be shared on Style Me Pretty today, our hearts felt so full. We put a lot of thought into where their images could shine, and the overwhelming answer was Style Me Pretty — luckily, they thought so too! We are so grateful and excited for Lydia & Matt’s feature, and we hope you will scoot over to see more of their dreamy nautical wedding.
