When it comes to taking pictures, Kelsy McCartney is my favorite subject. Of all time. It’s not even close. I think if brides knew how often during their wedding day that I’m taking pictures of Kelsy, they might have a few words for me. I can’t help it! The camera just really likes Kelsy! (and something tells me she likes seeing my camera pointed her way :) Something about the ridiculous cheese that takes over her face as she stumbles towards me with her perfect dimple on the left side of her face leading the way!)
One of the reasons I asked Kelsy to marry me is that she is actually the happiest person in the world — not a bad tid bit to have in our about us I thought ;) … So you can imagine when it comes to the wedding day and Kelsy is doing backflips while photographing beautiful details and throwing a mini celebration when taking a portrait of a perfect moment that it’s bound to rub off on everyone around her!
Wine, grilled salmon, salad, Amos Lee, me, weddings and date nights are all in her top 5 — probably in that order (although I’m pretty sure I am gaining on Amos). I also think that weddings have made the list because it reminds her of our day — Catching Kelsy smiling while the bride and groom exchange vows, or the bride dances with her dad is pretty much a guarantee.
Working side by side with Kelsy has made my life completely full. It makes me happy, and life is fun. What more could I possibly ask for? I’m in love with my best friend, we’re married, and we take pictures together every single day. :)
