Started the year living in Wisconsin and found comfort in the fact that this is where we plan to spend the rest of our picture-taking years :)

Set optimistic dreams for ourselves, and worked from our heart to make them a reality!

Made new friends who we are so grateful for! We love escaping what can sometimes feel like a crazy schedule to spend time with people who make us laugh!!

Photographed amazing couples in love all over Minnesota and Wisconsin :)

Had our couples featured on 7 different wedding blogs and published in 4 magazines!

Attended WPPI for the very first time in Las Vegas, and maximized the trip by photographing a styled shoot & attending the Making Things Happen Intensive!

Realized that even though we take pictures for amazing people all the time, we can’t forget to photograph the silly nothings that make our lives special too :)

Used too many exclamation points in all of our blog posts… we hope you don’t mind! ;)

Traveled to Chicago, Louisville, Omaha, Tulsa, Playa del Carmen, Ear Falls Canada, Door County (lots!), and Las Vegas!

Opened our very first studio in Wausau’s adorable downtown! We are super excited about this and will be sharing much more about our new studio in the coming weeks!

… It’s easy to look back at the year that was and think: Gosh! We took a lot of pictures! … But then we think back to each beautiful wedding day we were a part of, and we are reminded how truly blessed we are! We met and connected with not just our brides & grooms, but their lovely families and crazy friends too! We are so lucky to live and work in this incredibly rewarding industry together. All day, every day we are able to do what we love together, and we have our clients to thank for that!! Thank you for an awesome 2011!!! :D

Please enjoy a few of our favorite moments from a handful of our 2011 weddings!

On December 3rd, it rained for the majority of the day except for the perfectly timed hour when we were outside creating their portraits. We even had a few incredible moments of sunshine! With or without the sun poking through the rain clouds for those few minutes, Becky and Chris’ faces were absolutely glowing. But in that moment, while we wanted to be doing backflips while taking their picture in the middle of the street on a stone bridge against the most beautiful rays of sunlight, the two of them were lost in their own moment, completely soaking in their perfect day.

Given the time of year and early fading light, Becky & Chris chose to see each other before their ceremony. Their first look was truly one of the cutest we have ever witnessed!!

These were the moments where we wanted to do backflips & cartwheels behind our cameras. LOVE!

For us, this was unlike any other wedding we have photographed. Rather than documenting an entire wedding day filled with portraits, vows, and non-stop details, we were assigned the task of capturing all of the smiles, hugs, and laughter that filled the room. While looking through their images we found ourselves smiling at all of these moments, and wanted to share some of them with you :) Enjoy!

A perfect fall day, dozens of DIY touches, an awesome bridal party, and a band that drew everyone to the dance floor instantly proved to be all of the proper ingredients for a rustic, comfortable wedding day at one of Wausau’s most unique venues. With chalkboard signs, specially carved pumpkins and lanterns, Jena & Joe planned a celebration that welcomed their guests from the moment they got out of their vehicles! We had an absolute blast photographing all of their wedding details, and even more than that we reveled in the amount of portrait time we had with the two of them. We captured them laughing at each other, being adorable and simply relaxing in one another’s arms at sunset. Creating beautiful photographs with Jena & Joe just came so naturally.

Jena & Joe, thank you so much for inviting us into your wedding day and treating us like friends. We have never met a couple whose humor, optimism and sense of adventure is so vibrant, and are so grateful to have documented your love!

Anna and Paul are a beautiful, authentic, happy pair who loves (LOVES!) to laugh and surround themselves with people who enjoy doing the same. They embrace their friends and family with nothing but the most genuine smiles. Their hearts are so full and ready to give. Just being around A&P and soaking up their positivity brings an automatic smile to the face of everyone in their presence. They are head over heels for one another and their chemistry is something that the two of us (and our cameras) just cannot get enough of!

Leading up to Anna and Paul’s special day, we chatted quite a bit and it was so fun to hear what details and projects the two of them were working on. They brought so much of themselves into their wedding and worked closely with their vendors as friends, which led to an incredible wedding day for them and their guests. From the invitations to the programs and everything in between, A&P designed all of the paper elements (which everyone was swooning over). They also sprinkled their ceremony and reception with dozens of unique vintage finds and adorable little nuggets they created themselves (like the wood-painted direction signs made by Paul & the salt covenant bags used during their ceremony which Anna made). All of Anna and Paul’s creative touches made October 8th feel like not only a beautiful wedding, but one that could not have been any more perfectly tailored to fit the two of them and the love they share.

Mary and Brad’s wedding at the Great Hall on ARTSblock was filled with the perfect amount of thoughtful detail and little touches that showed their personalities. (Have we mentioned how much we swoon over the opportunity to photograph weddings here?!) We loved all of these elements, and we know their guests were delighted with their surprise cake pop favors, sweets table, and late-night cheese curds!

Bringing their families together for a wedding in central Wisconsin on the most perfect day in September resulted in a beautifully-decorated,  laughter-filled celebration of their love! Amanda and Anthony’s ceremony was especially unique, as they combined their cultures when promising to love and support one another forever. When you’re spending your wedding day at The Great Hall on ARTsblock, there’s no way to feel anything but special because it is such a unique space. And when that space is infused with family and friends from all over the world coming together to support the love of two people, there’s nothing lost in translation.

We just love these two and we know that if you were so lucky as to meet them, you would love them too :) Amanda and Anthony, thank you.
