STYLED TABLESCAPE CHALLENGE

A few weeks ago, Butch and I spent a lot of time hopping around town like crazy people in search of odds and ends to pull together a unique styled shoot. Having followed Brenda’s Wedding Blog for quite some time I knew that she was putting together monthly Vendor Challenges and was itching to take part in one of them. I just love things like this: themed parties, reasons to collect pretty things, creative outlets where you get to make your vision come to life. Our crazy schedule for February and March didn’t allow me to until this month, but it was well worth the wait! I was so excited when she announced the challenge for April: To create a bridal shower tablescape utilizing a color palette of robin’s egg blue, bubblegum pink, and light green, with one DIY aspect & a dessert display. I was lucky to partner with several amazing vendors who had a large part in shaping the vision of this shoot. Kim from The Event Essentials designed all of the paper goods and inspired our DIY aspect which was DIY cupcakes in a mason jar (more on that!), Randy from Evolutions whipped up a gorgeous canopy-style centerpiece (love!), and several etsy shops from all across the country were sweet enough to share their adorable creations and treats in the spirit of a fun styled shoot! After visiting every antique/candy shop, grocery store, and second hand shop in town, Butch and I had all of the elements desired to pull things together. Then! A lightbulb went off and we thought this may be the perfect scene to photograph Sweet Lola’s cupcakes — can’t wait to share those images with you soon! I knew that I wanted to photograph this tablescape outdoors, and the spot we found ended up bringing the perfect rustic feel to this pretty, feminine display. Make sure you take a peek at our feature on Brenda’s Wedding Blog for more details on our thought process and how this table came to life!
